Wisdom from Cat's Dad

What I learned from Cat's Dad.


Yesterday during a client session with an amazing girl who had just lost her dad, she asked if I check in and get a message from him.


I pulled out my cards and this is what we learned.


With spirits help her Dad gave us the message of just being blown away by the greater perspective and the great amount of knowledge that he now had access to.
He said, I thought I knew a lot but now I see I didn't know anything!


He then laughingly said, "I thought I was in control of so much but I wasn't controlling anything, the thoughts were.
The thoughts were moving me through life!"


I could then see the energy of thoughts carrying us from place to place and us thinking we were making choices and decisions but really the thought was controlling every turn.


We are like puppets to our thoughts. Every thought we connect to comes with a set of strings called choices and behaviors that will be carried out.


This is why it is so important to harness the ability to control what thoughts we think and entertain as they flow through our mental space.


If the thoughts carry us from place to place we have to be very careful which ones we allow to put strings on us. This appears to be our only point of true control in the decision making process of how life unfolds and where it takes us. Once a thought is attached we are just along for the ride.

ARE YOU IN A MESSY RELATIONSHIP?

 HERE ARE 3 INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS by Angie Johnsey


As you know there are many different types of relationships and when you really think about it, everything is a relationship of some kind.
We have relationships with others around us, relationships with ourselves, relationships with food, relationships with the God of our understanding, relationships with money, relationships with the work we do, our bodies, with life... everything is a relationship.
In order to have a healthy relationship with any and all things mentioned above, we need 3 ingredients.
Ask yourself, Which of the following is most responsible for my messy relationship with ___________?
  1. A Solid Foundation. This requires clearing old pain of past experiences and negative thinking around the relationship. A solid foundation is built with positive thoughts and words spoken inside your head as well as spoken out loud at all times. There is no room for negativity as this creates negative circumstances, negative behaviors, and a shaky, unstable foundation. For example: "I'm so fat" is a negative thought that will prevent a solid foundation for a healthy relationship with food. "I must be unlovable" is a negative thought that will prevent a solid foundation for a healthy relationship with another person.
  2. Team Work. Keep the in and out, give and take balanced. If the topic is something such as food, money, your work etc, make sure energy in is balanced with energy out. If you are dealing with another person, set up an emotionally safe space if possible and have adult conversations regarding how you can be more of a team.. meaning creating a balance in the give and take department.
  3. Openness & Honesty. Openness requires trusting whatever or whoever we are in partnership with. If trust is absent, go to step 1 and work on your foundation. Be honest with yourself and others in the relationship. Sometimes we think we want change but if we are really honest, there is some part of us that is more comfortable with the old problem than with the idea of actual change. Check in with yourself and make sure you are not holding on to comfort, attention, or emotional justification or excuses the messy relationship brings.
